Rock climbing is an
experienced based sport. There is no substitute
for experience. In our advanced lead course,
our instructors will help you gain more experience
by climbing more difficult routes and terrain
with the knowledge and comfort of knowing
an instructor is at your side.
Skills and concepts discussed will be similar
to the Introduction to Lead Climbing Course,
however, each concept will be given much
more depth and practice. By the end of this
course, you will be more comfortable with
falling, catching falls, lead belaying,
climbing on difficult terrain, pushing your
limits, knowing your limits, and more advanced
climbing movement. Special attention will
be given to onsight lead climbing.
This course is ideal for those who have some
lead experience but are still quite nervous
on lead. It is also ideal for experienced
gym climbers who wish to gain some exposure
to outdoor climbing.
*You must display
a working knowledge of lead climbing and belay
techniques or have taken an Introduction to
Lead Climbing Course before participating
in this course.
