A few years ago, there would be some days when we'd be feeling really down because we could only commit 2-4 hours to climbing, and the crag was just a little too far away. Then we realized that if we just built a bouldering wall, we could still climb every day!
In April of 2004, the construction was finished, and the Chiang Mai Climbing Club was born. C3's home is 24 square meters of bouldering bliss, located directly behind the CMRCA shop in central Chiang Mai. We wanted to create a safe, fun, and social atmosphere, where new climbers would feel welcome and pros could get a good workout, so we protected the wall with gymnastics pads, added a finger board and a campus board, and committed to changing routes every day. These days, the wall is where we spend most of our free time, hanging out with friends, introducing new climbers to the sport, and getting a good pump on. We've created a space that we really love, and from what we can tell, locals, travelling climbers, and families love it, too.
Just five short years ago, it was difficult to find climbing gear in Thailand. Fortunately, that is no longer the case! Chiang Mai Rock Climbing Adventures is Thailand's only importer and distributor of Sterling Rope and Mad Rock climbing equipment, so we have everything you need at prices you can afford. Visit our retail space located in central Chiang Mai, and check out the latest shoe models, replace that old sling that's caked in salt, or pick up a super-skinny rope to help you send your hardest projects. We also sell first-aid kits, finger tape, chalk, and other odds and ends that you can't find anywhere else.
Forget your gear in Bangkok? Only have one day to climb in Chiang Mai?
We offer a complete rental program to meet your climbing needs. All our ropes are kept with a rope use log so that you can view the history of the rope you rent.
Prices are as follows:
Crazy Horse is about 35km outside of the city. There are a number of easy, fun, and social ways to get out to the crag. Even if you have your own transport, stop by the shop for directions or to find a partner!

There’s nothing like a well-deserved lunch break in the middle of the climbing day. It’s a time to rest, hydrate, chat and of course —chow down. But we’re not talking typical peanut butter and banana sandwiches in plastic bags here.
For the past six years, CMRCA has been working with Mae On Restaurant, an eatery near Crazy Horse, to bring lunches to climbers. When you sign up to take the CMRCA red truck transport out to the crag, you also get to choose a lunch.
The lunches are then delivered right to Crazy Horse by noon in reusable containers. It couldn’t be much more convenient, and with the rotating Thai menu, it couldn’t get much tastier either.
