Climbing and caving are adventurous and fun activities that can be experienced by anyone.

"I can't rock climb. I'm afraid of heights." Have you ever thought this before? At Chiang Mai Rock Climbing Adventures (CMRCA), we believe that this is a great reason to climb. Climbing is about more than getting up on a cliff and checking out the great view (although that is nice). Climbing is about challenging yourself at whatever level you choose. CMRCA offers a variety of courses that not only take you out for a day or two of climbing but teach you about how to become a rock climber. We will present you with opportunities for personal challenge.

Beginner Courses

Introduction to Rock Climbing

"I'd like to take a course, but I've never tried climbing before!" At CMRCA, we hear this a lot. The good news is, we have just the course for you! Our introduction to Rock Climbing course is designed to be a fun day out on the rock where you will be introduced to the basics of rock climbing and rappelling (abseiling).

Climbing is our favorite thing in the world, and Chiang Mai is our favorite place to do it! Take a course with CMRCA and let us show you why.

Rock the Gibbon

Escape into the mountains above Chiang Mai, Thailand for two days of rock climbing, rappelling, caving, zipline canopy tours, and splashing in waterfalls. Relax for the night in a sleepy hill tribe village homestay with authentic home-cooked Thai food and stunning jungle scenery.

Fundamentals of Rock Climbing

3-Day Course

Jump-start your climbing career! This course will teach you to be a fundamentally solid climber who is well-versed in safety systems, climbing technique, and belaying. After three days with us, you will have the tools to climb without a guide and will be a solid partner for a climber who knows how to lead.

Introduction to Horizontal Caving

This caving course will introduce you to the basics of caving. We will discuss safety concerns, lighting issues, and basic caving techniques, as well as give you an introduction to the local geology and an explanation of how the magnificent cave structures are formed. The course will lead you on foot, knee, and stomach as you explore the many caves that make up Crazy Horse Buttress.
