I first climbed at Crazy Horse in Chiang Mai in 2003 when I found it to be a refreshing change from the overpopulated cliffs of Krabi. Since then a bunch more routes have been added to the Crazy Horse area and the crag infrastructure has been improved to an impressive level. All areas have well maintained trails, and many of the cliffs have benches and sun shade huts installed courtesy of CMRCA, who lead the management of the climbing. An additional bonus for many teams is that Crazy Horse has a good selection of easy angled routes in the lower to mid grades. The relaxed atmosphere is further encouraged by the local bolting philosophy of more is better. Whilst it may not have the beaches of southern Thailand, Crazy Horse offers great climbing in a friendly and relaxed countryside setting. Go check it out.
