Seeking Growth & Development Across Borders

2012 03_01_into_the_wild_dubai_002065Last week, CMRCA staff gathered to say farewell and celebrate the hard work of Guiding Intern Jiang Qing “Tina” Lin. Tina was the latest participant in CMRCA’s Guide Exchange Program with INSiGHT Adventures (formerly ChinaClimb) based in Yangshou, China.  Tina spent one month with us developing her climbing skills and serving as an Assistant Guide on climbing courses and student group programs.  See Tina in action below.

One of CMRCA’s Core Values is to seek growth. As a company that deeply values leadership development and cross-cultural facilitation, our partnership with INSiGHT has been a pivotal part of the professional development of CMRCA staff.  We believe that investing in our staff is the best way to invest in the greater community and provide high quality climbing and outdoor adventure services.

We have been exchanging guides with INSiGHT since 2008 and are excited to continue to grow this and other exchange programs with adventure providers around the globe.

Siegrist Climbs To New Heights In Vegas

Ever since JStar’s first visit to Chiang Mai in 2007, I’ve been continually impressed with his dedication and commitment to excelling at climbing and pushing not only his personal standards but those of the entire community.  Jonathan is a true ambassador for our support and his actions have inspired our entire community. Check out his latest contribution and inspiration as he gets the first ascent of La Reve, 9a+ (5.15a), in Nevada, USA.  Well done Jonathan.   Thank you for showing all of us what is possible!

Climbing as Therapy with Whitney Boland

28 February, 2012

Whitney Boland has been on Sterling Rope for years, but climbing had a whole new meaning after she was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) 6 years ago.  Whitney has discovered that staying active and on the rock is a form of therapy for both her body and mind.  We’re excited to share this inspirational video from Sterling Rope.
