Join CMRCA staff, climbers, friends, locals and travellers to give back to our favorite crag in the world! On Saturday, 10 December, the CMRCA climbing community will spend the morning maintaining trails, building belay platforms, picking up trash and helping out Loung Nan with other projects around Crazy Horse. After a delicious Mae On lunch, we'll spend the afternoon climbing with friends new and old and enjoy the fruits of our labor. After the recent road improvements and Crag Clean-up Day, Crazy Horse will be all spruced up for another amazing year of climbing, caving and adventuring.
CMRCA's 9th birthday is on Sunday, 11 December. We can't think of any other way we would want to celebrate than building our community and spending time in a place we love. Please register online prior to the event so we can arrange for transportation and lunch.

If you've ever stopped by CMRCA to ask directions to Crazy Horse, you know how we love to tell folks that getting to the crag is a bit of an adventure. There's no obvious sign, no paved access road, no parking lot next to highway -- and that's just the way we like it. Developing Crazy Horse as a model for sustainable climbing tourism in Asia means keeping the entrance under wraps and not disturbing the rural quirkiness of Mae On.
However, after a particularly heavy rainy season, the road is ready for some basic improvements. Deep ruts and persistent erosion called for a long-term investment. This week we hired some local construction muscle to widen the road and fill it in with gravel. Today the project is nearly complete.
The cost of the new road is THB 100,000 and we are hoping to collect THB 30,000 from the climbing community. If you would like to contribute, please donate at the CMRCA shop or via PayPal:
Thank you for helping us uphold our goal of making Crazy Horse the best crag in Asia and one of the best in the world!
We are confident that this new road will withstand many future rainy seasons and provide a safe -- though still adventurous -- way to access our favorite crag! Climb on!Posted by: Denali Barron
