Action Jackson Movie Night

CMRCA is showing "Action Jackson" at the bouldering wall next Tuesday, 22 November, 20:00.  Storm Show's "Action Jackson" features big mountain skiing and riding when record books were shattered with over 700 inches of snowfall in the Teton Range of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  On display is the deepest of deep and massive cliff hucking that you can watch safely from your couch.

We're excited to have the film's Producer and Director, Darrell Miller, in town to to talk about his epic adventures and the making of the movie.  Free admission!

Crazy Horse Rescue Training

CMRCA instructors spent the day Saturday practicing wilderness first aid and rescue procedures at Crazy Horse Buttress.  We started the day by reviewing scene and patient assessments and communication between instructors in the event of an emergency.  After lunch, we staged a real-life scenario in which instructors were faciliatating student programs at three different areas of the crag: caving in Deep Hole Cave, climbing at Monkey Cove and leading students across the Tyrollean Traverse.  "Nong Josh" pretended to take a fall as he rappelled from the pillar and the instructors jumped into action to provide immediate care and activate an appropriate evacuation plan.  The instructor team organized a successful evac by stabilizing a potential spinal injury and carrying the patient out on a backboard.

CMRCA hosts thousands of climbers and cavers every year and we are committed to making the crag as accessible and safe as possible.  The staff have Wilderness EMT (WEMT), Wilderness First Responder (WFR), Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA), and Wilderness First Aid (WFA) certifications from NOLS Medical Wilderness Institute and Wilderness Medical Associates.

Think You've Celebrated Loy Krathong?

Experience Loy Krathong like never before!  The Mae On community is hosting a Lantern or Khom Fai Competition where teams release and attempt to float their lanterns through a ring about 6 meters above the ground.  Think you have what it takes?

Join CMRCA for this unique celebration on Thursday, 10 November. The food, drinks and festivities will be a perfect end to a day of climbing at Crazy Horse.  We will provide transportation from the crag to the competition for an additional THB 100 fee for climbers using CMRCA transport or taking a course.  We are also providing transportation from our shop at 5:30pm for THB 150.  All trucks will pick-up from Mae On by 10pm.
