Join CMRCA staff and friends in celebrating the Yi Ping festival on Saturday! Loi Krathong, the great Thai festival of lights, is coming up soon. This is one of our favorite events leading up to the main festival. On Saturday evening, 29 October, upwards of 5,000 paper lanterns will be lit and launched at once from Lanna Dhutanka Buddhist Center, behind Mae Jo University. It's a magical experience and we would love for you to come along!
We will be leaving from the CMRCA Shop at 17.00 to drive to Mae Jo. Bring you own transport and meet us here if you would like to drive together.
Climb on!

Thanks to everyone who came to the 4th Chiang Mai Climbing Community CRANK! We had an awesome turnout and a great time climbing together.
Special appreciation goes out to Surachet "Add-venture" Kongsingh and the boys for delivering 25 excellent new routes; We's Restaurant and the party team for cooking a delicious post-Crank meal; and our friends from the larger Chiang Mai community who generously donated prizes. The Community Crank sponsor list reads like a guide to Chiang Mai for the hip and fearless:
Chiang Mai Mountain Biking, Flight of the Gibbon, Chiang Mai X Centre, Siam River Adventures, Chiang Mai Archery, Rock and Ice Magazine, the Royal Flora Rachapeuk, Panda Mania, the Salad Concept, Gohanya Japanese Restaurant and "Josh.com" Miller.
We are so psyched to be part of such a world-class COMMUNITY. Stay tuned for the next Crank in January 2012! Climb ON!

One year ago today Black and Diamond were both hit by a truck in front of our office. Black died within minutes and Diamond looked as if she might not make it. Today, Diamond is as healthy as ever, albeit a bit lonely without her sister and the tree we planted for Black at Crazy Horse Buttress is growing and healthy. Black and Diamond have been a part of CMRCA since our beginning. They embody the essence of our first core value, We Are A Family, and we will never forget the unending love and commitment they always have given us. We hope that you too have fond memories of Black and we look forward to many more with Diamond.
We miss you black!
