This course is essential for any serious climber. The key to safe climbing is risk management. Understanding the risks associated with the sport allow climbers to successfully prevent major accidents. However, accidents do happen and having the skills and knowledge in order to help an injured climber is the ultimate risk prevention technique.
In this course you will learn how to perform self rescue techniques at a top managed climbing site. Some typical scenarios might include.
- You are top belaying and the climber needs help getting through a difficult section
- You are top belaying and the climber falls on an overhanging section
- You are top belaying and the climber gets hurt and you need to haul them out
- Hair stuck in belay device during a rappel/abseil

This course is for intermediate to advanced climbers who are confident lead climbers that know climbing knots and how to use essential climbing equipment such as the mechanically assisted breaking devices (i.e. GriGri)
